The Gaggenau London showroom windows are becoming a Christmas tradition. For the past two years Tom Baker has been transforming the large glass canvas with his beguiling snow art.

This season, inspiring winter woodland scenes brighten up Wigmore Street. Glimpses of the enchanted Black Forest, snowflakes and an iconic cuckoo clock, carefully etched into the fragile white veneer of ‘snow’, pay subtle homage to our humble beginnings back in 1683.

Unveiled before a specially invited guestlist from across the UK culinary scene, the art continued through the evening with guests keen to create their own masterpieces. Under Tom’s watchful gaze and guiding hand, artworks were added to the windows by excited partygoers. Look out for the igloo, winter cottage and Black Forest trees, all products of the magical night.

Every attendee was gifted tools with which to create their own winter scenes at home. The process involves spraying white, water-based ‘snow’ onto glass (guests were furnished with stencils to get them started) and then hand-etching intricate shapes with a dry paint-brush. In Tom’s skilled hand, the windows become a three dimensional dreamscape.
